Schedules Conference Call for Friday, October 4, 2002

South Hackensack, NJ, October 3, 2002 – AEP Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: AEPI, the “Company”) today stated that the Company knows of no materially adverse event that would explain the stock price activity of the past three days. The Company believes the stock price decline is a result of unusually high selling pressure on its thinly traded stock.

Management will discuss its business activities over the past month, provide guidance for the year and answer any questions its investors have.
